Sleep under the stars and make lasting memories with family camping at William’s Den. This year, we’re thrilled to introduce six cosy bell tents—perfect for families who want a little extra comfort while enjoying the great outdoors.

If your kids never want to leave after a day of adventure, why not stay over! Our spacious pitches and new bell tents give you plenty of room to relax and play, all within easy reach of the main Den.

Make the most of your stay with our Pitch Up and Play ticket, offering combined indoor and outdoor play entry for the whole family. Adventure play access is available from 2pm on your check-in day until closing on your departure day. Please check your booking confirmation for full details and opening times.

Please note: At least one adult must accompany a maximum of five children in the play areas. We’re all about quality family time—William’s Den is not an adult-only venue.

Camping FAQ's

It depends on the type of ticket. Pitch-only gives you a grass pitch of approximately 8 metres x 8 metres, use of showers, loos, wash-up station, access to William's Pizzeria and Coffee Shop & Ice Cream Parlour; access to fresh running drinking water and an Elsan point and free access to the woodland walk.

For Pitch Up & Play, you get all of the above, plus access to William's Den Adventure Play from 2pm on your arrival day and each day you have booked to stay with us (see T&Cs on our camping page).

Yes. We have six outdoor "Shepherd Hut-style" eco-friendly showers available with a small enclosed changing area available outside each shower. Please bring your own shower gel, shampoo and towels though! And something to wrap up warm in when you get out  - as they are private open-air cubicles.  

Yes, we have a relaxed approach to pitches where space allows. There may be some exceptions for safety reasons, for example with tourers or caravans, but we'll try to accommodate flexible pitching wherever possible. 

For the Den Fest, it is essential to arrive and check in together to be pitched in the same area. (You are welcome to wait for friends/family in our main car park before heading into the campsite to get located in the same area. Note: we are unable to offer pitches together if you arrive separately.

William's Den is an all-year-round attraction that lets imaginations run wild and gives families and friends the freedom to play, eat, explore and camp together. It has play spaces inside and outside inspired by nature and young imaginations; acres of land to explore; and fantastic homemade food and ice cream.

For Camping bookings, we allow up to six people per 8 metre x 8 metre pitch in up to two tents. 

For your Den Fest event ticket for 18-20 July - tickets for the event are booked per person and to be pitched together you must arrive and check in together at the site. You are welcome to wait for friends/family at our main car park and then check in together at the site. We are unable to reserve spaces for friends and family arriving at different times to the event.

Wild campfires are not permitted for safety reasons. We allow small contained fire pits and BBQs. For safety, these must be raised off the ground and located at a suitable and safe distance (several meters) from cars, caravans, tents etc. We offer a limited number of fire pits for hire from our cabin, along with logs and kindling for sale. Suitable fuels only to be used in ALL fire pits.

We ask that you adhere to the following safety rules. 

PLEASE NEVER LEAVE A FIRE PIT UNATTENDED AND EXTINGUISH FIRES FULLY BEFORE YOUR BEDTIME.

Always keep enough water or a suitable fire extinguisher to extinguish fires in an emergency. Fire extinguishers are available in the case of emergency from the camp warden or on the bin compound fence. Please adhere to our fire safety rules displayed on site. We have metal bins for BBQ coals once they have cooled.

We reserve the right to withdraw the use of these items in the event of extreme hot weather conditions.

For our Den Fest event on 18-20 July - we will be hosting a communal campfire in the evening.

Yes. One of the best things about camping at William's Den is that you get the feel of a wild campsite with the benefit of having an attraction on your doorstep. Our restaurant (aka William's Pizzeria) is open daily, during our opening hours, and serves a delicious homecooked menu and woodfired Pizzas. We also offer campers breakfasts from 8.30 am.

Yes. You can choose to park your car next to your tent/caravan. We ask that you take extreme care when moving your vehicle around the site as there may be children playing. Please note there is a 5mph speed limit across the whole of the William's Den site.

For Den Fest  - one vehicle is included next to your tent. Additional vehicles must be parked in our main "William's Den" car park.

Yes, we will have an Elsan point for disposing of blue waste.

No, we are a natural site without electricity. William's Den Camping is an off-grid camping experience so you get that real sense of getting away from it all into the great outdoors.

 We recommend bringing mobile phone charger packs and torches are handy for after dark too. 

Check-in for Camping is between 2 pm and 5 pm on your day of arrival. Later arrivals are welcome - please let us know in advance and on your booking notes if this is something you will require.

Den Fest arrival time arrival for 2025 is from 3pm onwards on Fri 18th July, if you would like to be pitched near friends or family it's essential to arrive together at the campsite or wait in our main car park for your friends/family to arrive  - then approach the check-in at the campsite all together. If you are not arriving on Friday or arriving after 8pm please email us at [email protected]

The field is more than 13 acres (approx 52,000 sq m) and we have 80 pitches available per night.

At the campsite, we have several good quality portaloos with small wash basins inside,  plus a fully accessible larger portaloo with a baby changing facility. In addition, during opening times at William's Den, we have public toilet facilities including 4 large family baby change toilets in the main area and ambulant toilet facilities including a fully accessible Changing Places room. see here for more info about facilities inside William's Den.

Yes, we have fresh drinking water available on-site, there is a water station for filling bottles there are two freshwater taps. The water in the portable toilet hand basins is not portable drinking water please only use the freshwater station. 

Yes, for Camping only, they cannot stay in our Bell Tents (Dogs are not allowed at our Family Festival; Den Fest 18-20 July) 

We accept friendly dogs (dangerous dog breeds are not allowed), please book up to two per pitch while space allows. Please make sure to add each dog when booking your pitch. 

Next door to our Campsite we have a huge dog exercise area - payable in advance, and more details HERE.

We ask that dogs be kept on a lead at all items (other than within the dog exercise area) and are not left unaccompanied on the campsite. Please note that dogs are not allowed in William's Den play attraction areas except for guide/assistance dogs.

All bookings are non-refundable, however, in certain circumstances, we will try to transfer your booking to another date for the same ticket type and price. In the first instance, email [email protected]

Den Fest 2025 is our cool mini-festival designed with families in mind. It's an all-in-two day event with 3 nights of camping 18 - 20 July at William's Den. Where campers get to experience all of the usual William's Den camping experience with added special entertainment and surprises. This year it takes place from July 18 to 20th

Campers are welcome to bring their own gas stove, small firepit or BBQ, but please ensure it is raised off the ground on bricks or its own stand to manage fire risk. Disposable BBQs may be allowed depending on the weather conditions at the time of your stay. 

Please note that in the event of extremely hot weather conditions, William's Den reserves the right to not permit any of these items or fire-related items.

Please ask us! We have a shop where you can grab all kinds of camping essentials. Plus the village of North and South Cave 5 mins drive away. Check back before your trip for more examples of what we'll be stocking. There's also a Wandahome store in nearby South Cave for camping and caravan essentials.

Yes. We welcome campervans to our off-grid campsite experience. Please note there is no hard standing available nor electricity hook-ups, so please plan accordingly! Max height 3.4m and width 4.8m.

Yes. We allow caravans/tourers and campervans onto our campsite for an off-grid experience. We do not have hard standing available nor electricity hook-ups, but you are welcome to bring your caravans to use effectively as a tent on wheels. Max height 3.4m and width 4.8m.

Depending on available space, we may limit the number of caravans on site per night so we encourage you to book as early as possible.

Pitch Up and Play tickets give you the most flexibility and savings for your stay, however, you are welcome to book Pitch Only and then add play tickets separately at a later date via our regular ticket booking website.

For our usual camping, we ask that tents be packed up and cleared off the pitch by 12 midday on your day of departure. If you're staying to play at William's Den, you can move your car to the main car park and enjoy your day until we close!

For The Big Camp Out event 19-21 July -  last check out is on Monday the 22nd of July by no later than 10am.

Yes. We allow caravans/tourers and campervans onto our campsite for an off-grid experience. We do not have hard standing available nor electricity hook-ups, but you are welcome to bring your caravans to use effectively as a tent on wheels. Max height 3.4m and width 4.8m. 

Please note that for Den Fest - vehicles such as campervans, tourers and caravans will not be situated in the same pitch areas as tent pitches.

For our Family Festival Den Fest on 18-20 July - the last check out is on Monday 20th July by no later than 10am. If you would like to check out early then please pop your car badge into the post box on our campsite cabin and either let our campsite warden know of your departure or let us know at the welcome desk.
